H.R. 2909 removes the unfair practice of taxing earned Social Security benefits. This legislation would be paid for by raising the Social Security payroll tax cap to $250,000, ensuring that higher-earning Americans continue to pay into Social Security along with the rest of us. The non-partisan Office of the Chief Actuary states that passage of H.R. 2909 would extend the ability of the Social Security Trust Fund to pay all scheduled payments in full and on time for an additional 24 years!
